Recent form makes for difficult reading — a thirteenth, three blanks, a third, a sixth, and an eighth in the last six runs — though that third place shows the engine hasn't completely switched off.

What is perhaps most striking is the simple fact that Stormy Jenn raced just one day ago. At nine years old, with one career win and a 46-month winning drought, this horse is still active, still being saddled up, still competing. That is either a testament to the team's loyalty or evidence that Stormy Jenn is simply one of those horses who loves the game regardless of the scoreboard. In racing, those two things are not mutually exclusive.
