The win came at Sandown Park on 29 August 2025, and it is the most recent piece of form we have. Since then, the horse has been off the track for around six months, which is a significant break at this stage of a career. That kind of absence at two is not unusual — young horses are managed carefully, and a winter off can do them a world of good — but it does mean racegoers will be watching closely to see how Sticktoyourguns returns to action.

Behind the horse is trainer Owen Burrows, based in Lambourn, one of the great centres of British racing nestled in the Berkshire Downs. Burrows has had a productive season, sending out 31 winners, which speaks to a yard operating with real confidence and consistency. Having a trainer in that kind of form is exactly the environment a promising young horse needs around it.

There is not a long story to tell yet — two races simply does not give you much history — but sometimes the most intriguing profiles are the short ones. A horse that wins on debut or close to it, then disappears for a winter, then comes back as a three-year-old with a full season ahead of it: that is a story still being written.
