That moment came at Exeter on 21 October 2025, and it is worth noting that Exeter is a notoriously tricky, undulating track that catches plenty of horses out. Winning there is not a given, and Start Again earned it. The partnership with jockey Kielan Woods has been the most productive combination in the horse's career — they have won 1 from 5 races together, a win rate of 20%, which is a meaningful return when you consider the horse's overall record of winning just 1 in every 9 races across its career.

What makes the profile a little puzzling is the class question. Start Again has raced three times at Class 5 — the level where most horses like this tend to pick up wins — and has drawn a blank in all three, returning zero wins from those outings. Yet it found a way to win elsewhere. That is the kind of quirk that keeps racing interesting and defies easy explanation.

The horse is trained by Fergal O'Brien, whose yard in Withington, Gloucestershire, has been in strong form this season — 90 winners sent out is a serious number and puts O'Brien firmly among the busier, more productive stables in jump racing. Horses trained there are generally fit, well-prepared, and pointed at the right races. Start Again raced just one day ago, so it is very much an active campaign.

The recent form reads 6-–-3-1-7-3, and that middle dash is a non-runner, so setting that aside, there is a win and a couple of third-place finishes tucked in among the less impressive efforts. It is the profile of a horse that can land a race when things fall right, even if consistency remains elusive. Worth watching, particularly if Woods is in the saddle and Exeter comes around again.
