The peak of those achievements came on 29 December 2025 at Doncaster, where Spindleberry won a Class 1 race — one of the highest-tier races run in Britain. Getting to that level takes years of consistent performance, and landing it confirms this is no ordinary horse. It first broke its duck at Fairyhouse in Ireland back in January 2024, and that track has become something of a home away from home: three wins from just four races there. Winning 3 from 4 anywhere is impressive enough, but doing it at the same course suggests the horse genuinely thrives on that track — the layout, the ground, something about the place clearly suits it.

In the saddle, Paul Townend has been the jockey of choice, and the numbers back up why. Together they have won 4 of their 6 races — winning roughly two out of every three times they line up as a partnership. That level of understanding between horse and jockey is rare and worth noting.

Behind the scenes, Spindleberry is trained by Willie Mullins at his yard in Muine Bheag, County Carlow — arguably the most powerful training operation in jump racing right now.
