Speechman

Recent form suggests no sudden breakthrough is imminent. In the last six races, Speechman has finished seventh twice, eighth once, and managed only one second place and one third place finish. Those results are clustered at the lower end of the field, the pattern of a horse that is struggling to find a level where it can genuinely compete. Philip Kirby's East Appleton yard has enjoyed a strong season — sending out 36 winners — but Speechman is not one of the success stories. The horse has been active just this week, which at least shows its the yard believe there is still something to run for.
