Sonic Sabiha

At this stage of a young horse's career, that kind of record is entirely ordinary. Two-year-olds are still learning what racing is about — how to handle the pace, the crowd, the ground beneath their feet. The fact that Sonic Sabiha is running regularly, a day apart, suggests his trainer David Marnane thinks there's something worth persisting with. Marnane's Bansha yard in County Tipperary has been in good form this season, sending out 21 winners, which means the trainer knows what he's doing. For a horse this young with this little experience, the next few weeks and months will tell whether Sonic Sabiha develops into something or remains a horse that tried but never quite made it. Either way, there's no story yet — just a young horse still writing her own.
