Soldat

Soldat is a two-year-old still finding his feet on the racetrack. He made his debut just a day ago and finished fourth in his only outing so far, which is a perfectly ordinary start for a young horse still learning the game. With his trainer G. M. Lyons, who runs a yard at Dunsany in Co Meath that has already sent out 43 winners this season, Soldat will have plenty of experienced guidance as he continues his racing education. There is nothing in his record yet to get excited about, but then again — he has only raced once. Time will tell whether he has the ability to develop into a competitive racehorse.
