Solar Generation

Trained by Martin Brassil in Co Kildare, Solar Generation raced as recently as yesterday, so the yard — sorry, the team — are clearly still giving this horse opportunities to find its feet. Brassil has sent out 10 winners from his yard this season, which shows the operation is in decent health, and that suggests Solar Generation's repeated tenth-place finishes are a puzzle rather than a reflection of the stable's form overall. When a yard is producing winners regularly and one horse keeps finishing in the same lowly position, it tends to focus minds on whether a change of approach might unlock something different.

Two runs is still a small sample, and horses can take time to show their best. But back-to-back tenths with nothing in between to suggest improvement makes it hard to point to much that is working just yet. The story of Solar Generation, for now, is one that remains to be written.
