Those two wins tell a neat story. The first came at Newcastle on 11 December 2025, then Snowrocco backed it up with another at Musselburgh on New Year's Day 2026 — a genuinely pleasing way to start a calendar year. Both came on slightly soft, wet ground, and that detail matters. In five races on that kind of surface, Snowrocco has won twice, a 40% win rate that stands well above its overall record. When the ground rides soft underfoot, this is a different animal. Put it on faster, drier ground and the results dry up too.

Ryan Mania has been the jockey for five of those outings and has won on Snowrocco twice — that's 2 from 5, or 40%, which is a remarkable number. When a jockey wins 2 in every 5 rides on a particular horse, that combination is worth paying attention to. Trainer Adam Nicol runs a yard in Seahouses on the Northumberland coast, and with 24 winners already on the board this season, it's clearly a stable in form. Small yards posting numbers like that are doing something right.

At seven years old, Snowrocco is an experienced campaigner who mostly competes at Class 4 level — a solid mid-tier of racing, not the glamour end of the sport but competitive enough that winning there means something. The 1 win from 6 races at that level (17%, roughly 1 in 6) is modest, but given the two recent victories and a current form line reading 5-12-4-1-1, the trajectory is pointing upward. That sequence — reading right to left — shows two wins, a fourth, and only then the weaker efforts. Snowrocco raced just yesterday, so there's clearly no sign of the team easing off. The question is whether the wet-ground form of midwinter can carry into spring.
