Skewsby

Trained by Michael and David Easterby at their Sheriff Hutton yard in North Yorkshire, Skewsby is part of an operation that has already sent out 55 winners this season. The Easterby brothers run one of England's most consistent training outfits, so the horse is in experienced hands. At this stage — four races in, no wins yet, but showing enough to place — Skewsby remains a work in progress. The second-place finish suggests the horse has the ability to run well in competitive company; whether it can convert that promise into a first win remains to be seen. For now, it is a horse worth watching, particularly if the yard can identify a race where conditions and opposition play to its strengths.
