Six Blue

The most recent run, just one day ago, ended in sixth place, which at least represents the best finish of Six Blue's career to date. Whether that signals any improvement or simply reflects a smaller, weaker field is hard to say, but it is the one flicker of promise in an otherwise blank record.

Six Blue is trained by Richard Phillips, whose yard is based in Adlestrop in Gloucestershire. Phillips has sent out three winners from his stable this season — a modest but real return that shows the yard is capable of getting horses to win races. The question is whether Six Blue can become the next one to contribute to that tally. Right now, the horse needs to find significant improvement just to get its nose in front of the placed horses, let alone win. Plenty of horses take time to figure things out, and with only four races under its belt, the sample size is still small — but the trend so far has been firmly in the wrong direction.
