Siouxperb

The last six races tell an encouraging story. After a win at Newcastle, Siouxperb came back a week later to finish fourth (10th), then eighth, then second, then a distant 18th, before bouncing straight back to win. That kind of volatility in a two-year-old is fairly typical—young horses are still learning their trade, still figuring out what they're doing on a racecourse—but the fact that this one won as recently as October and can follow a weak run with a strong one suggests genuine ability rather than a one-day wonder. Archie Watson, who trains from Upper Lambourn in Berkshire, has sent out 62 winners this season, so Siouxperb is in a yard that knows how to get horses winning. The fact that the trainer still has this horse racing regularly and back at the track within days of Newcastle suggests he sees something worth developing.
