What marks Sinnatra out is not just how often he wins, but how he's been trending upwards. His most recent six races read 1-2-5-1-3-1 — three wins sandwiched around a couple of tougher efforts — which tells you he's a horse capable of bouncing back from a poor run rather than falling apart. He's tended to race in Class 3 events, winning one of three attempts at that level. Harry Skelton, who rides him regularly, has partnered him for seven races and landed two wins together, suggesting there's an understanding building between horse and jockey.

The Skelton yard — which has sent out 198 winners already this season — clearly sees bigger things ahead. After Sinnatra ran well on his first hurdle outing in a strong race at Newbury, getting tired late on but showing plenty of engine, the trainer signalled plans to target better novice hurdles around Christmas and into spring. Post-race talk after a recent win hinted at longer-term ambitions too: while Sinnatra is a capable hurdler now, his the yard believe he could develop into something special as a chaser, where his athleticism and jumping technique may really flourish. For a relatively new arrival to the yard, he's already become one of the more intriguing prospects.
