The Skelton operation is having a remarkable season — 194 winners and counting, which puts them among the very busiest and most successful yards in the country. Sinnatra is one of the horses they're clearly excited about within that squad. He arrived at the yard this season with a decent record already behind him, and on his first run over hurdles at Newbury — one of Britain's more prestigious tracks — he travelled smoothly into the race before tiring late on. Skelton was relaxed about that, pointing out that the run would bring him on significantly, and it clearly did. He won for the first time in the yard's colours at Chepstow in November 2024, and has since added another win at Warwick in February 2026.

His recent form reads 2-5-1-3-1-2, which tells its own story — he's been in and around the places consistently, winning two of his last six races and rarely finishing out of contention. Harry Skelton, who rides for his brother's yard, has been on board for most of those runs, winning 2 of their 6 races together, a 1-in-3 partnership that mirrors the horse's overall record.

What makes Sinnatra genuinely interesting is what Skelton said after his Sandown win — that the horse has "quite a big engine" and has already been tested in good company at Newbury. The trainer stopped just short of calling him a really good hurdler, and the reason is telling: he thinks Sinnatra will be an even better chaser once he switches to jumping fences. That's a significant thing to say. It means the horse you're watching over hurdles right now might not even be the finished article. With a Listed race at Exeter and a potential Aintree run on the agenda, the spring could be very revealing.
