Sing The Blues

The career started promisingly enough, with a first win at Goodwood back in October 2025, but it's the most recent result that really stands out. Sing The Blues won at Newmarket just this week — on 17 July 2026 — making this a horse that is very much in form right now, not one coasting on past glories. Two wins from the last five races, with a placed finish in there as well, paints the picture of a horse that turns up ready to compete almost every time.

Behind the scenes, the operation is in good hands. Martin Dunne trains out of Newmarket in Suffolk — the heartland of British flat racing — and his yard has sent out 20 winners already this season. That's a team running hot, and it shows in how Sing The Blues has been managed: the horse has been pointed at the right races and delivered when it matters.

At Class 4 level — the middle tier of the race ladder, solid without being the very top — Sing The Blues has won one from three, which is a decent 33% win rate in that grade. There's clearly room to test the horse at a higher level if the wins keep coming. For now, though, with a race just yesterday and form figures reading 1, blank, 1, fifth, third from the last five outings, this is a horse in the middle of a productive run. The blank in that sequence simply means a race where finishing position wasn't recorded, not a poor result. Strip that out and the picture is almost entirely positive. Worth keeping a close eye on.
