Silverella

The recent form tells the story. Just this week, on 24 September at Pontefract, it won convincingly. Before that came another victory at Goodwood back on 29 August, with a fifth-place finish sandwiched between them — the sort of minor blip that barely registers when you're winning at that rate. Having raced only a day ago and already back in action, the horse is clearly in good health and ready for more.

Marcus Tregoning trains Silverella from a private yard, and he's built a small but solid season with four winners so far. With a young horse running this well this quickly, there's a real sense that better might be coming. The question now is simply how high Silverella can climb. Early promise at this age doesn't always translate into serious success, but when a 2-year-old is winning two of its last three races, you pay attention.
