What makes the current form genuinely encouraging is the upturn over the last six races. The horse has won three of them—most recently at Kempton Park this week—with a pair of second-place finishes in between. That is genuine momentum for a five-year-old still running regularly. Silky Robin clearly prefers fast, dry ground, where it wins 4 out of every 10 races compared to a much softer return on wetter surfaces. Brian Toomey's Chalfont St Giles yard has found a horse that suits particular conditions and tracks, and the trainer appears to be running it at the right opportunities. The recent Kempton victory proves Silky Robin can win beyond its Brighton fortress, though the horse's preference for sprint distances—winning a third of its races over shorter trips—suggests staying within that range keeps it performing at its best. For a horse earning its living at Class 6 level, this is a sound, well-managed career.
