Her sole victory came at Southwell back in December, and what makes it worth noting is that she went into that race having previously finished sixth — so she clearly improved sharply from her first outing to her second. Going from sixth to first in the space of two runs is exactly the kind of progression trainers are looking for in a young horse finding her feet.

She's trained by Tom Clover out of Newmarket, one of British racing's great headquarters, and his yard has sent out 23 winners already this season — a strong, consistent operation. With a horse this lightly raced, the interesting question is always what comes next, and Clover tends to place his horses well. Silenciosa raced just yesterday, so she's right in the thick of things, and with her best form still very likely ahead of her, she's well worth keeping an eye on.
