His record on normal ground is where the real case for optimism lives. On a standard surface, he has won 3 from 13 races — roughly 1 in every 4 — which is a meaningfully different horse from the one that churns around in wetter conditions. For a trainer plotting a campaign, that number matters. Joe Tizzard, who operates out of Milborne Port in Dorset and has sent out 58 winners this season alone, clearly knows what he has here. During a stable visit last November, Tizzard was candid that Siam Park loves Taunton and the team would look to head back there — not the sort of thing a trainer says unless the horse has genuinely shown something special at the track.

At Class 4 level — the bread-and-butter tier of jump racing, where most horses spend the bulk of their careers — Siam Park has won 2 from 10, which works out at 20%, or 1 in every 5 races. That is a perfectly respectable record at that grade, suggesting he belongs there rather than just being dumped in to fill a field.

The recent form does need some context. He has not won in his last six races, and his last victory came at Plumpton back in November 2025, now six months ago. His most recent outings show a couple of second-place finishes alongside some less impressive efforts — the kind of mixed sequence that suggests a horse capable of performing without quite putting it all together. Jockey Brendan Powell has ridden him 15 times for just the one win, a partnership that has had its moments without ever really clicking into gear.

With a race just one day ago, Siam Park is clearly in active training and his team are not done with him. A return to Taunton on good ground would give him every chance of ending that six-race winless run.
