Sherekiya

The horse is trained by D K Weld at Curragh, one of Ireland's most established yards. Weld has sent out 21 winners already this season, so there is clearly quality in the stable and the expertise to get horses ready. Whether Sherekiya's struggles are simply a matter of needing more time and racing, or whether the horse has found its level at a stage where winning has become elusive, is one of those questions only continued racing will answer. At three years old, there is still time for improvement, but the consistent inability to win from seven attempts suggests the horse may be working at the limits of its ability. The good news is it remains active and getting raced — the worst thing for a developing horse is to sit idle.
