The one win came at Navan on 6 September 2025, and it remains Shamalza's most recent victory, now standing ten months ago. The last three runs tell a story of some inconsistency — a win, then a sixth, then a fourth — but a fourth-place finish is not a disaster, and horses of this age are often still working out what racing is asking of them. The team will be hoping that Navan form was a sign of what is possible rather than a one-off.

Shamalza is trained by R M Beckett, based at Kimpton in Hampshire, and the yard has been in seriously good nick this season — 107 winners is a substantial haul and speaks to a team operating with real confidence. A horse trained by a yard firing at that rate deserves respect, even when the individual form looks modest. Beckett clearly knows how to place horses to give them the best chance, and with Shamalza still active and apparently in work, there may well be more to come from this one before the season is out.
