Sequel Star

Ed Walker's Upper Lambourn yard has sent out 76 winners this season, so the infrastructure and expertise are there to get a horse across the line. Walker is a trainer with a proven track record, which means Sequel Star remains a horse with potential rather than one consigned to the also-rans. At two years old, the horse is still very much a learner. Plenty of decent racehorses don't win until they have had several runs under their belt, and there is no shame in being winless after just five attempts at this stage of a racing life. The real question now is whether that first win comes soon, or whether Sequel Star settles into the role of a horse that runs regularly but rarely gets its nose in front. The next few races will tell.
