Distance matters too. Over the longer routes between a mile and six furlongs and two miles, Secret Rock has won three of twelve races (25% win rate), which is nearly double his career average. This is where he seems to thrive—give him soft conditions, give him room to work over, and he becomes genuinely competitive.

Cian Collins's Navan yard has had a productive season with twenty winners, and Secret Rock remains an active part of those plans. After a four-month gap, he raced just yesterday, suggesting the trainer continues to find suitable opportunities. With Ben Coen on board for most of his recent races (one win from six rides together), there is a settled partnership in place. Secret Rock may never be the flashiest horse in any race, but his record shows he is the sort who can capitalize when the stars align—wet ground, a decent distance, and a race within his reach.
