The real story with Secret Handsheikh is where he wins. At Chepstow, he is genuinely effective—2 wins from 6 races there represents a level of comfort at that track that many horses never find. On normal ground, he steps up to a 1-in-5 win rate (4 wins from 22 races), nearly doubling his overall average. But drop him into Class 5 races, the lowest graded level, and he struggles markedly: just 1 win from 29 attempts there, a win rate of only 3%. This pattern tells you he is a horse who needs the right conditions and the right company to be competitive. At Class 5 or lower, he is simply outgunned.

His partnership with Darragh Keenan has been productive but limited—they have won together twice from 12 races, a 17% win rate that actually exceeds his overall record, though the small sample size makes that hard to read as a trend. Trainer John Gallagher's yard at Chastleton has had a decent season with 8 winners, and Secret Handsheikh remains a reliable middle-distance soldier in that stable.
