Scrap The Lot made his racing debut just over a day ago, finishing ninth in what was clearly a tough introduction to the track. The 2-year-old, trained by
Mark Fahey at Cloneygath in County Kildare, has plenty of time to improve on that opening run. Fahey's yard is in good form this season with 24 winners already to its name, so there is solid support behind this young horse as it learns the ropes. For a debut runner, a ninth-place finish is not uncommon — many horses need a race or two under their belt before they settle and start to show what they can do. It will be interesting to see how Scrap The Lot develops over the coming months.
