What works in her favour is who is looking after her. Michael and David Easterby operate out of Sheriff Hutton in North Yorkshire, and this season the yard has already sent out 55 winners — that is a serious training operation with a genuine knack for getting horses ready to run well. A stable that productive does not tend to waste time on horses without ability, so the fact that Saxy Lass is in training there is at least a small vote of confidence. She ran just yesterday, so the yard — sorry, the team — will know exactly where they stand with her right now, and what she needs next.
The honest truth is there is not much to go on yet. One race, one modest result. But every horse with a big future had to start somewhere, and Saxy Lass is only just getting started.
