The career got off the ground at Tipperary in April 2025, a first win at a track close to home for a yard based in Cloughjordan, deep in County Tipperary. But the peak came just a few months later, when Sarahmae won at The Curragh in August 2025. For those unfamiliar with Irish racing, The Curragh is the heartbeat of the sport in Ireland — it hosts the country's most important flat races and draws the best horses in training. Winning there means something. It isn't a fluke venue or a quiet midweek card; it's a stage that separates decent horses from genuinely useful ones, and Sarahmae rose to it.
Since that August win, though, the results have been harder to come by. The last 6 races read 20-6-8-6-4-12 — those numbers represent finishing positions, and none of them are first. A 20th-place finish sits alongside a fourth, which tells you there's some inconsistency in there, though racing in a finishing position of fourth means Sarahmae was still knocking on the door at least once in that stretch. Ten months have now passed since the last victory, which is a long time in a young horse's career, and the current form line doesn't suggest a return to winning is imminent.
The partnership with jockey J M Sheridan is the thread that runs through most of these efforts — 12 of the 18 races together, producing 2 of the 3 career wins. That kind of continuity matters; a jockey who knows a horse well is often the difference between a close run and a winning one. And trainer Denis Gerard Hogan has been in excellent form this season, sending out 56 winners from his Tipperary base — so the operation Sarahmae belongs to clearly knows what it's doing. Having raced just yesterday, this is a horse very much in the thick of things, and if Hogan can find the right race to spark a revival, the Curragh win proves the ability is somewhere in there.
