Sand Dance

Sand Dance is a two-year-old who made its racing debut just a day ago, finishing eighth. The horse is trained by S. P. C. Woods at Newmarket, a yard that has already saddled 24 winners this season, so there is clearly competence in the operation. With only the one race under its belt, it is far too early to draw any real conclusions about what Sand Dance might become — debut runs often tell you very little about a young horse's future. The key now is how the horse bounces back from that opening outing and what the trainer decides to do next.
