Salty Racer is a 5-year-old still searching for a first win after two races without success. The horse has finished fifth and eighth in its recent outings, most lately a week ago, and remains in active training with
Noel C Kelly at Draperstown in County Derry. Kelly's yard has been in decent form this season, with 14 winners to their name, so there is clearly competence in the stable. At this stage of Salty Racer's career, it is too early to draw firm conclusions — two races tell you very little — but the recent finishes suggest the horse will need to improve considerably to get off the mark. Whether it has the ability to do so remains to be seen.
