Runninman

Trained by Donald Whillans at Hawick in the Scottish Borders, Runninman has been a regular ride for jockey Paul Mulrennan, who has partnered the horse five times without a win. The yard itself is doing decent work this season with nine winners already, so the problem isn't a lack of expertise. At Class 6 level — the lower end of the racing ladder — Runninman has tried five times and hasn't managed to break through. At this stage of the horse's career, still just three years old and without a win to its name after 14 attempts, there's little to suggest better days are immediately round the corner. Plenty of horses never do find the winner's enclosure, and Runninman might be heading that way.
