The Newcastle track, where that September victory came, seems to suit too. Trainer Gemma Tutty's yard at Osmotherley in North Yorkshire has been firing winners all season, sending out twenty so far, so there is proven expertise in the corner. The horse remains active and is clearly being given chances to get back on the board. That break of six weeks since the Newcastle win may have been a reset. At only three years old, Rugby Union still has time and experience to gather, and another run in its preferred ground and distance might be exactly what it needs to pick up the win that would suggest the first one was not just a flash in the pan.
