Whether Rovinia has a genuine affinity for the place or simply had everything fall right that day remains to be seen, but it is the one occasion where everything clicked. That win came over seven furlongs to a mile, the distance range where Rovinia has the best record — winning 1 from 4 races at those trips, a rate of 25%, which is comfortably the most productive part of the profile.

The yard behind Rovinia is Roger Teal's operation in Lambourn, one of the most famous training villages in British racing. Teal has sent out 22 winners this season, so this is not a small or struggling outfit.
