That single win came at Kempton Park back in October 2025, and it remains the career highlight so far. What gives it some added meaning is that Kempton's all-weather track at seven furlongs to a mile is precisely where Rovinia looks most dangerous — winning 1 from 5 races at that distance, or roughly 1 in 5, which stands well above the overall career average. In other words, when Rovinia lines up at the right distance, the chance of a win more than triples compared to other days. That is the kind of pattern worth noting.

The competition Rovinia faces is mostly at Class 6, the entry-level tier of British racing, and even there the record reads 1 win from 7 races — about 1 in 7. It is not a horse troubling the top end of the sport, but at this level, a horse that places regularly (six places from 16 races is actually a decent haul) is one that keeps showing up and competing, even without getting its nose in front.

Roger Teal trains Rovinia from his yard in Lambourn, one of the great racing villages in Britain, and the operation has been in solid form this season — 22 winners sent out, which speaks to a yard that knows how to get horses ready to run. Rovinia raced just yesterday, so the team clearly have the horse fit and active. The nine months since that last win at Kempton will not be lost on them, and with the right distance and a bit of fortune, another day like October is not out of the question.
