The young horse broke through with a win at Nottingham on 30 July, and has raced three times since then. His most recent four runs tell the story: an eighth-place finish, followed by a second place, a fourth, and then a win. That last victory came three weeks ago, also at Nottingham, suggesting he has found something to like about that track. There are promising signs in the record — two placings alongside the win show he is mixing his efforts well — but the inconsistency in his last four runs (finishing 8-1-4-2) is a reminder that at two years old, he is still finding his way. Yesterday's race will tell us whether he is building momentum or still learning the ropes.
