Robin Elite

The recent form tells a mixed story. A pair of placed efforts — two second or third-place finishes buried in the last six runs — show the horse is capable of running a decent race, but there is a significant gap between finishing in the frame and actually crossing the line first. The other four runs in that sequence were well down the field, suggesting Robin Elite finds consistency hard to come by. It has now been absent for roughly four months, which at least means it returns fresh, and sometimes a break is exactly what a horse needs to rediscover its enthusiasm.

Trainer Eugene O'Sullivan has sent out four winners this season, so there is clearly life in the yard. Whether Robin Elite can become the fifth is the question. At seven years old, time is not exactly on its side, and with no wins from 19 races, hope has to be tempered with realism. Still, every horse that lines up has a chance — and all it takes is one day when everything clicks.
