River Tara

Trained by C A Murphy at Gorey in County Wexford, River Tara remains an active runner despite the long wait for another success. The yard is doing solid work this season with nine winners to its name, but this particular horse has not been among them. Recent form tells the story: a third-place finish in the last race, then two races where River Tara failed to place, followed by a ninth and a third before that. The pattern is fitful — flashes of form scattered among runs where the horse simply does not fire. At eight years old and winless for so long, River Tara is a horse that seems to have found its level, capable enough to stay competitive in races at its grade but not quite sharp enough to break through. It is the kind of horse that gives its the yard hope on good days, then reminds them why those good days are so rare.
