Riffa Spirit

What is encouraging, if only slightly, is how the horse has fared at Class 5 level, where it has won 1 of every 3 races entered. That 33% success rate suggests there is a level at which Riffa Spirit performs with real purpose, rather than merely making up the numbers. The question is whether the trainer, Declan Carroll's Malton yard, can find that level again and engineer a return to the form that delivered that Chelmsford victory. The yard itself is doing well this season with 24 winners to its name, so there is clearly competence on hand. For a horse with only 10 races under its belt, Riffa Spirit is still young enough for a turnaround, but the clock is ticking.
