Resdev Time

Jockey Joanna Mason has been the regular partner, riding Resdev Time in five of those races without a win between them. That kind of established partnership can be a positive sign — it means the team at Sheriff Hutton clearly has faith in the combination — but it also means Mason knows better than anyone just how close, or how far, the winning line remains. The horse has raced almost entirely at Class 5, which is the entry-level tier of British racing, so the expectation is that sooner or later a race at this level should come its way.

The yard behind Resdev Time is Michael and David Easterby, a well-regarded North Yorkshire operation that has sent out 51 winners already this season — so they clearly know how to get horses to win races. When a trainer of that calibre keeps running a horse, it usually means they believe the breakthrough is coming. Whether Resdev Time can finally justify that faith is the question its next few races will have to answer.
