Resdev Time

The recent form makes for uncomfortable reading. Looking at the last six races, the best result was a third place, sandwiched between a string of fifth, sixth, and seventh-place finishes. That third was a glimmer, but the pattern overall is of a horse that competes without quite threatening at the finish. Racing at Class 5 — the entry-level tier of British racing — Resdev Time has managed no wins from four races at that level, which suggests it hasn't yet found the right opportunity to break through even at the most accessible grade.

Joanna Mason has been the regular partner in the saddle, riding Resdev Time in seven of its 12 races, and the pair are still searching for that first win together. The horse is trained by Michael and David Easterby at their yard in Sheriff Hutton, North Yorkshire — a team that clearly knows how to find winners, having sent out 55 of them already this season. That makes Resdev Time something of an outlier in a yard that is otherwise firing on all cylinders. The fact that it raced just one day ago tells you it is in active campaigning and the team evidently believes there is a result in there somewhere. At three years old, there is still time for the penny to drop.
