That one career win came at Windsor on 23 June 2025, and it arrived at the level where Reporter typically competes — Class 6, the entry-level tier of British racing. At that grade, it has won 1 from 7 races, a 14% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 7. That's actually not bad for a horse at this level: Class 6 fields are often full of horses finding their feet or past their best, so converting even 1 in 7 suggests Reporter is broadly competitive in the right company, even if the wins don't stack up.

The recent form, however, tells a more cautious story. Over the last six races — reading newest to oldest: sixth, fourth, eighth, fourth, third, fifth — Reporter has been close without threatening to win. That fourth and third suggest a horse that finds a level but then gets outpaced when it matters. The eighth is the one that stands out as a clunker. None of those runs have produced a winner's enclosure moment, and the last win is now nine months old, even though Reporter has been kept busy throughout.

Trainer Michael Attwater operates out of Epsom in Surrey — fittingly, the home of the Derby — and has sent out 26 winners this season, which shows a yard in decent working order. The horses are running and winning, just not always this one. Reporter raced nine days ago and remains in active training, so another run won't be far away.

The honest picture is of a horse that earns its place in a race without threatening to dominate it. One win from 18 starts is a modest return, but six places shows it hasn't been wasting anyone's time. Whether it can find Windsor form again is the question worth watching.
