The broader career picture shows a consistent, workmanlike competitor. Eight wins and 19 places from 39 races gives a win rate of roughly 1 in every 5 — 21% — which is a solid return across a long career. The partnership with jockey William Carson is one of the more striking threads running through that story: in 14 races together, they have won 4 times, a win rate of 29%, or just under 1 in 3. That kind of chemistry between horse and rider matters more than people realise — a jockey who knows a horse's quirks and timing can find half a length that changes everything.

That said, recent form tells a more sobering story. Redredrobin has not won in its last six races, finishing 9th, 8th, 6th, 9th, 5th, and 2nd going back through those runs. The second place is the one to hold onto — it shows the ability is still there, flickering. At nine years old, horses don't typically get sharper, but they don't always decline in a straight line either. Trainer Malcolm Saunders has sent out two winners from his yard this season, so the operation is ticking over, if quietly.

The last win came at Chepstow in August 2024 — nearly two years ago now — and that gap is hard to ignore. What keeps this horse interesting is that the Class 4 level it usually races at, one of the mid-tier grades, has only produced 1 win from 13 attempts, an 8% win rate, or roughly 1 in every 13 races. Strip away Salisbury and Chepstow, and the record looks thin. But Salisbury remains on the calendar, and as long as Redredrobin keeps turning up there, the story isn't quite finished.
