Red Tail is by Showcasing, a sire who tends to produce quick, sharp horses that hit the ground running early in life — exactly what you want in a two-year-old. The mother's side brings in Dragon Pulse, another speed influence, which suggests Red Tail is bred to be fast rather than the type who'll need time to fill out and develop. On paper, this is a horse built for precocity.
What we simply don't know yet is how Red Tail will take to racing itself. First-timers are always a leap of faith — some take to it immediately, others need a run or two before the penny drops.
