Red Demon
Red Demon is a 2-year-old still finding its feet on the track. The horse made its debut just a day ago and finished fifth, which is exactly where you'd expect a young horse to be at this stage of its career. There's nothing unusual about a first-time racer needing time to learn the game — racing is a completely new experience, and many horses improve dramatically once they understand what's being asked of them.Based on TrackLab's analysis

Our model's view, based on this horse's career and recent runs
The horse is trained by Donald McCain at his yard in Cholmondeley, Cheshire. McCain's operation is in strong form this season, having sent out 55 winners already, so Red Demon is at least in a yard with the skill and resources to bring it along properly. How it develops from here will tell us whether that debut run was simply inexperience or the start of a pattern. Young horses can be unpredictable — some click immediately, others need several races before they settle and start performing. The next few outings will be much more revealing than this first one.
