Red Dahlia is still looking for a breakthrough. The three-year-old has run three times without a win or a place finish, most recently finishing seventh just yesterday. Before that came a seventh-place finish and a fourth, so there has been some improvement in recent outings — the fourth-place finish represents the horse's best result to date. With the yard sending out winners regularly this season, there is clearly quality at
John Joseph Murphy's base, but Red Dahlia hasn't yet found the form to join that group. Still early in a racing career, and still racing, so there is time for that to change.
