Rebel Wave

The horse broke through at The Curragh on 18 July, and has since added two more victories, most recently at Leopardstown on 12 September. That win came four weeks ago, and while there has been a slight dip since then — her last run came back a place shorter — it is hard to read too much into a single performance when a young horse is still learning the game. What matters is that Rebel Wave has shown she can win at proper racecourses, and she is doing so with increasing regularity.

Trainer W. McCreery, based at Rathbride in County Kildare, has his eye on developing this talent. The yard has sent out 19 winners already this season, which suggests McCreery knows how to get horses to the winning post. With three wins already banked from just seven races, Rebel Wave looks like a horse that has the ability to keep improving, and there is every reason to think her the yard will give her the chance to prove it.
