What is worth noting is that Reap The Rewards raced just yesterday, so whoever saddles it next will be doing so with very fresh information about where the horse currently stands. Trainer Ciaran Murphy, operating out of Mullingar in County Westmeath, has had 18 winners on the board this season — a solid return that suggests the yard knows how to place a horse when the moment is right. The question is when, and where, that moment arrives for this particular one.
At this stage, Reap The Rewards is a horse you are watching for potential rather than past performance. Sometimes it simply takes time for a young horse to work out what racing is all about, and Murphy's record gives cautious grounds for thinking the team around this horse know what they are doing. The wins have not come yet — but the season is not over.
