Ragaire

The form figures tell the story: eleventh, ninth, twelfth, fifteenth, and twenty-third. There is nothing in that sequence to suggest an imminent change in fortune, though the eleventh-place finish last time out is marginally the best the horse has managed so far. At three years old, Ragaire is still young enough for improvement, but five races without a single place is becoming a pattern worth noting. Trainer Ollie Sangster, based at Marlborough in Wiltshire, has forty-six winners from the yard this season — a respectable tally — but Ragaire has not yet become part of that success story. For now, the horse remains a work in progress, still waiting to justify the effort and investment that brought it to the races.
