Rafe's Da Man

What's striking about his last five races is the improvement. He finished fourth twice, then third, then second, and most recently failed to place. That creeping improvement — even if it stalled on his last day out — is exactly what you want to see from a young horse this early in his career. Under Richard Hannon, one of the country's top trainers whose yard has already sent out 118 winners this season, Rafe's Da Man is clearly being given time to develop. He's not a finished product yet, but the foundations look solid enough. If he can rediscover the form that earned him that Goodwood victory, there's no reason he can't add to his tally before the year is out.
