On breeding, there is plenty to like. The father, Golden Horde, was a sharp, speedy type who won at the highest level over short distances, and he tends to pass on a similar profile — quick horses who hit the ground running. The mother's side comes through Mastercraftsman, a stallion associated with horses who stay a bit further and tend to improve with age and experience. Put those two together and Rabbit's Foot looks like a horse who could develop into something interesting over a middle distance, and one whose best days may well come after this first outing rather than during it.
The trainer is F-H Graffard, operating out of France, and the yard has sent out six winners already this season — a solid platform that suggests a team with live horses in their care right now. French-trained runners can sometimes be underestimated when they travel, which is worth keeping in mind. For Rabbit's Foot, simply learning the ropes today would count as a successful afternoon.
