What gives the team genuine cause for optimism is who is steering the ship. Trainer George Boughey, based at Newmarket — the heartland of British flat racing — has been in outstanding form this season, sending out 99 winners. That is not a number you arrive at by accident. It reflects a yard that knows how to place horses well, bring them along patiently, and peak at the right moment. For a young horse still figuring things out, being part of a stable operating at that level is a significant advantage.
Queencard raced just yesterday, so this is very much a story still being written. Two races is barely an introduction — some horses need four or five outings before they start to show what they are really capable of. With a trainer who clearly knows how to develop young talent, there is every reason to keep watching.
