Public Enemy

Both wins have come at the Class 4 level, which is mid-tier British racing, and the numbers there are encouraging: two wins from seven races at that grade, a win rate of around 29%, or almost one in three. Public Enemy finds its best form over distances between one mile six furlongs and two miles, winning one of three races at those trips — a 33% win rate that tells you this is where the horse is most at home. It clearly needs a bit of room to get into its stride.

The partnership with jockey Rex Dingle is one of the more interesting angles here. Together they have won two from five races — that is 40%, or two in every five rides — which is a sharp number by any measure. When Dingle is booked, something tends to happen. Those two wins make up the entirety of Public Enemy's career victories, so there is a clear case that this particular combination brings out the best in the horse.

Trainer Anthony Honeyball operates out of Mosterton in Dorset and has had a productive season — 51 winners sent out, which is the kind of output that marks a yard running in good order. Public Enemy is part of a healthy operation.

The current form is the thing to keep an eye on. The last six races read 5-5-8-8-7-4 — a run of finishes that has not included a win since Stratford-on-Avon in May 2025, nearly a year ago now. The trend there is heading in the right direction — from finishing eighth and seventh, it came back to fourth and then two fifths most recently — which looks more like a horse finding its feet again than one going backwards. Having raced just one day ago, it is clearly a busy, active sort. Whether a return to form and the right trip can bring the yard another winner remains the question, but Public Enemy's record suggests the ability is there when everything clicks.
