Private Larry

Trained by Alan McIntyre out of Clifden, Kilkenny, Private Larry is part of a yard that has found the winner's enclosure three times this season, so the operation clearly knows how to get a horse ready to perform. Private Larry, though, hasn't yet shown it belongs in that company. Racing just one day ago, it remains active and will presumably get more chances to change the narrative — but on current form, punters and casual observers alike would need a good reason to get excited.

At this stage, Private Larry looks like a horse still finding its feet in the game. Three-year-olds can improve sharply as the season goes on, and five races is a relatively small sample. Whether that improvement comes remains to be seen.
